Most RAM meters built before the OS Maverick update will now display 0% if you have updated your OS. I have fixed this issue and updated RAM Meter by Matt, while increasing customizability.

Set-up

You need to specify your total physical RAM in Megabytes in the first line. For example:

totalRAM=16000

specifies that your computer has 16GB of RAM.

Customize

You can adjust the number of ticks and tick character in the second and third line. For example:

ticks=20
tickchar="•"

specifies that your meter has a total of 20 dots.

By default, the geeklet will set the border tile to red and unused memory tiles to black (refer to screenshot for clarification).

To change the border tile colour, look for the following line:

echo "\033[1;31m•\033[0m\c"

and change the 31 to another number (e.g. green is 32, yellow is 33, blue is 34). To change the unused memory tile colour, look for a similar line and change the 30 to another number.

For Coders

Used RAM in Megabytes:

usedRAM=`top -l 1 | awk '/PhysMem/ {print $2}' | sed s/M// `
