This ascii clock uses a perl script I found in a post on PerlMonks.org. I adjusted it to have a couple of options necessary to run as a geeklet. The options are to NOT display the seconds hand (geektol + perl just can't update fast enough for it). The other option is to only run once. Otherwise geektool just disappears into a pinwheel and things go wonky.

It's a little more work than some geeklets, but you will be the only cook-kid on your block with a desktop ASCII clock!
