This was one that I decided to make that would be good for those of you that are new to geektools. When you run all of these geeklets they will create the desktop for you. The only thing that you need to change is on the geeklets that say you need to change something. When they say you need to change something, open it up and go to the web address on it and change the part that looks like a zip code to your zip and then you are good to go. I used bowtie for the iTunes now playing.

This is my first attempt at Geektool. I really love it, it's so cool!!

This is still a work in progress. I'm considering making the top bar bigger and moving the To-Dos in it so it's all in one place. I also need to add something else to take up space so I was thinking of adding an iTunes monitor.

I got the background from http://interfacelift.com and all the geeklets I used I found here or somewhere on the net. I have the names saved in my downloads folder so if you're curious just ask!

Let me know what you think!! Any suggestions?

Also if anybody could tell me how to get rid of the "(Reminders)" part from the To-Dos I would love you forever! I'm using iCalbiddy to pull the data...is there a better way?

**UPDATE: I added a music glet!

To darken the dock you need to edit the files that start with scurve in this directory -"/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources"
i attached the edited .png all you need to do is copy and paste my scurve flies into this folder make sure to back up the original. after the file have been copied use the command "killall -KILL Dock" in terminal or restart your mac.

To make the menu bar darkened i used the app called menu bar filter which you can just google.

Here's a desktop I threw together using a random picture of crumbled paper on a desk.

What I did:

Started with basic paper on desktop.

Made a font from my handwriting using MyScriptText and imported it into my FontBook.

In photoshop I wrote in the parts that the geeklets don't show like first and last name and " 's notes" after the weekday geeklet.

I then put all the basic geeklets I wanted on to look like they were written on the lines.

Finally I included a sharpie marker and a crumbled piece of paper as an image geeklet.

If you have any questions on what I did or the geeklets I used just leave a comment.

This is an HDR photograph of an autumn day. I edited the photo in Photoshop CS4 to create the overlapping geeklet image, then I used standard geeklet commands found on this site (time, date, month, day, and battery status).

As far as applications go:

I am running Nocturne to get the black menu bar - items on the menu bar only appear when your cursor makes contact with it.

I am running Docker to customize my dock. It allows you to resize, add spaces, make it 3D/2D, etc.

I also use Hyperdock; an application that allows you to resize windows instantly to 1/2 the screen (left or right), the lower half, or full screen. It also gives you window previews from the dock.

If you have any questions, just ask.
